Dates for the beginning of the Pacific Theater of the Second World War can be set as late as 1941 and as early as 1931, however, this video begins with the Invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939.

Up to 36 million people were killed in Pacific Theater of WWII. Just like the Eastern Front, conditions for soldiers were miserable and the casualty rate was often high. The Pacific also set the stage for the Cold War, with the first two nuclear bombs being used on Japanese cities.

  1. Houston, This is a powerful blog. Actually, it is very scary all the things that mankind can do to cause killing and destruction. And in the end so pointless.
I don’t think for a minute that world leaders understand this as they continue to create havoc.
Keep up the good work with your posts. They are interesting and informative.
